What's In my camera bag?
-Utah Wedding photographer edition-
As a Utah photographer who shoots weddings, seniors, engagements, and families, I have to be prepared for literally ANYTHING. Think of me as your personal Mary Poppins. In my bag you'll find anything between camera gear and lens cleaner to bobby pins, hair ties, and tissues. You never know what you might need the day of your wedding or family shoot so I just bring it ALL.
First up... camera gear!
I like to think of myself as an over-packer. There is no such thing as too much stuff. SO I always have at least two of everything. The most important being my camera! I shoot on my canon mark IV and I looooove it! I have an attachable flash that I use at all my weddings, and my main lens is my 24-70mm. Just in case my camera wigs out, I always have a separate bag with a backup camera and two lenses... just in case! On top of that I've got about a million batteries, a million SD cards, and a million batteries for my flash. Those are my main items! I've always got some hard drives, card readers, and my laptop on hand as well.
Once again... its better to be overprepared.
stuff for me!
These things are pretty simple but I simply can't live without. As a wedding photographer I always carry around a notebook with me to write down ideas or to refer back to on the spot if needed! I've got shot lists, posing ideas, camera setting guides, the day of wedding schedule, etc. Last but not least in my phone, but more specifically my notes app. Its jam packed with reel ideas, special client requests, payment info, and addresses. All the stuff I can't forget!
The most important thing I bring for myself are snacks. I don't leave the house without them. If you know me you know I'll always have snacks on hand. Especially gummy bears.
LAst but not least...for my clients!
This is especially for my brides.... but often times clients have soooo much to think about on the day of their shoot that they wouldn't think to grab some of the smaller extra stuff! One being a tide stick. My tide stick has saved lives.
I always have lip gloss, bobby pins, hair ties, ChapStick, safety pins, and TISSUES. I never ever forget tissues. Because kids have snotty noses and its the WORST to edit out later. Also the mother of the bride will need them... I PROMISE. Thank me later.
Lastly, I always have a phone charger. If not for me, at least on other person always needs it.
